5 Workout Apps for 2018

It’s 2018 which means the holiday eating season is officially over and you are probably thinking it’s time to spring into your workout routine. Whether you want to shed the extra helpings of stuffing you ate or are just looking to start out the year new and improved, these apps can help you start off 2018 with a bang! All these apps are free, however, some have paid premium versions, and they are available for Apple and Android mobile devices.

Being in a good state of mind to start out the New Year is just as important as physical health. Created by meditation and mindfulness expert, Andy Puddicombe, Headspace guides you through mindfulness and meditation exercises.  There are a variety of different guided sessions that all fall under five categories Foundation, Health, Relationships, Performance, and Headspace Pro. When you first download Headspace you have access to the 30-Day Foundation pack which introduces you to the basics of meditation.

 

My Fitness Pal (iOS & Android)

It has a wide variety of foods already in it’s database so all you have to do is scan the barcode. And if there happens to be something that isn’t in the database, like something you cook yourself, you can manually add it.

This HIT focused app has a wide variety of workouts to choose from as well as personalized incentives that will really make you simply work it. What makes this app unique is that you can choose the activity type and then the kind of work out you’d like to do. For example, you could chose strength from yoga. You can customize the time from five minutes to an hour. Also this app includes a calorie counter to tell you how many calories you’ve burned by completing each exercise.
