Monica’s Modalities

Craniosacral (SM)
A gentle, soft-touch type of therapy that taps into the body’s innate ability to heal itself when possible. Using specifically designed, light pressure techniques, CST releases restrictions and compression in the Craniosacral system.
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot stones are placed on specific points on the body while giving the massage. The localized heat and weight of the stones warm and relax muscles, allowing the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort.
Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a type of massage intended to stimulate the lymphatic system by releasing blockages and assisting the natural circulation required for the elimination of metabolic waste, excess fluids, and bacteria from the body.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy is a special and joyful time in a woman’s life, but it can bring discomfort and sometimes pain. Massages help! Monica specializes in prenatal massage.
Reflexology
There are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Properly stimulating these reflexes may help solve many problems.
Trager Approach
The Trager Approach is a unique form of bodywork developed by Milton Trager, M.D., through a lifelong commitment to exploring the body-mind relationship.
Swedish Massage
Designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But the benefits of go beyond relaxation. It can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are essentially small, localized muscle cramps, usually confined to only one or two of the small fibers that comprise the main muscle body. These palpable knots respond to stimuli and are a common source of chronic pain and discomfort.
Shiatsu Massage
Trigger points are essentially small, localized muscle cramps, usually confined to only one or two of the small fibers that comprise the main muscle body. These palpable knots respond to stimuli and are a common source of chronic pain and discomfort. The hypersensitivity of these nodules can also cause the discomfort to radiate outward (or “triggering”) leading to pain, tenderness, tingling, and even numbness to other areas of the body.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage will work out the knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to alleviate immediate pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
Relaxing Massage
A massage can help get you back on your feet by increasing circulation, relaxing muscles, and improving joint movement and flexibility.
Chair Massage
A chair massage is a shoulder, neck, and upper back massage that takes place in a specially designed chair. The massage might also include the arms and hands and part of the lower back.
